Ali has a broad civil litigation practice including professional liability, insurance defence and employment law. He regularly appears before the Small Claims Court and the Superior Court of Justice. Ali has represented both the plaintiff and defence on various matters providing him refined experience on both parties’ perspectives on litigation.
While in law school, Ali worked at the Community and Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP) as an Immigration Division Leader. Within this role, he advised clients in various stages of the immigration process and represented them before the Immigration and Refugee Board.
Prior to law school, Ali completed an Honors Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto double majoring in Criminology and Ethics, Society and Law. During his undergraduate degree, Ali was the inaugural Equity Director for Woodsworth College Students’ Association where he implemented inclusive policies for the college and advocated for a large student body.
Away from the office, Ali enjoys stepping away from the legal court and onto the tennis court.
Recent amendments to the Rules of Civil Procedure1 impose stricter limits when it comes to the admissibility of such evidence where there is a delay in serving the expert reports.
